This blog post is part of Zemanta's "Blogging For a Cause" campaign to raise awareness and funds for worthy causes that bloggers care about.

Face_sepia_revd The Philippines is one of the poorest country in the World. Most of the families, especially the unfortunate ones cannot afford Hospital bills when they get sick. Though many institutions locally are helping them, everyone is  not lucky enough to be enlisted because of the overwhelming count. Only those children that need prompt attention are listed first inline.

Zemanta We'll be donating $6000 to non-profits/charities that get most blogged about in next 4 weeks. Check the event page for details at http://www.zemanta.com/bloggingforacause/

Zemanta

When I stumble upon Zemanta's "Blogging For a Cause" Give a Life Foundation is the first one that came into my mind. Probably because this institution mainly focuses it’s assistance to sick Children. Below is an excerpt from the said foundation’s official website.

“Give A Life children's charity, for the under-privileged sick and dying in the Philippines. Some of Manila's largest pediatric wards need your help. Your donations will provide life saving medicine and equipment for children from the poorest families in the Philippines. The Give A Life Foundation, ensures that 100 % of your gifts go to help sick children in the pediatric wards of Luzon and the Philippines ! Our primary goal is to replace and upgrade the equipment used in these wards. We have also created a new, cost effective and efficient systems for access to medicines, antibiotics, cancer drugs, medical supplies, disinfectants and soaps for the very poorest cases.”

My apology for posting below, pictures of the children needing medical assistance. I don’t want to be accused of exploiting these children but I believe people seeing  these would understand the true meaning of giving and caring for all those in need.

Give a Life Foundation won the top prize at the 39th Grand Anvil Award. It is awarded the GRAND ANVIL plus the ANVIL AWARD of EXCELLENCE. This highly prestigious award was presented by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines.

One of Give a Life Foundation’s on-going project worth mentioning is the “Refurbishment at the Jose Fabella Pediatric Intensive Care Unit” This hospital is the central lying in for  those women giving birth who cannot afford the high cost of private hospital’s medicine, room rate and amenities.

Just this afternoon, May 12, 2009 4:20 PM I received an email from Give a Life Foundation. Here is an excerpt;

Hi Sir Vic,

We want to thank you for creating the blog, we already saw it  and it was so good. Mr. Stephen Jarvis sent his warmest appreciation for making that blog. Thank you vey much and we really do appreciate what you’ve done. If you will be needing  pictures and videos that you can upload on the blog or in “you tube” we are very much willing to send you a copy.

It is the mission of the foundation to extend our service to children who are less fortunate in providing medication to their illnesses. We want to help those children who are sick, and yet they don’t have any money to sustain the medicine they need. It really hurts to see such incidents when parents beg for help, and those children who are suffering.
You’ re blog will serve as an eye-opener for those people who are able to help. Thank you for the effort and the time that you’ve shared with us.

More power and God bless!
Give A Life Charity Foundation

Reading the letter above, I cannot express the feeling that ran through me. Considering that I lost my Job on the day I wrote this BLOG, It is nothing than those children suffering as of this writing. But hey don’t worry. I’m always good at dealing with hard times.

So there it is, this blog post became personal …Oh look my tears are falling..hah..got to publish this update now. God Bless Us all.

I recently found a related article by a Blogcatalog friend. Please do check it out at Me Blogged U .

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am a UK resident living and working in the Philippines for the past 18 years. I have made donations before to the Give-A-Life Foundation and will do so again. This is a genuine and well run registered charity that really does save the lives of hundreds of children in this third world country.

What makes this charity different from so many other charities in the Philippines, is that all of the donations are used to buy equipment and medicine for the children. With other charities, often well intended, portions of the donations can end up not being used for purposes relating directly to the children, due to bad administration and the bureaucracy that shrouds most NGOs over here. However, this seems to be an exception to this rule.

If only there were more charities like this in the Philippines, a lot more children would benifit. Keep up the good work Give-A-Life!

Hi. I'm from Melbourne, Australia and is organising a fundraising event (art workshop and auction) for the underprivileged Filipino kids. I checked out the website of Give A Life charity foundation and it looks like their website has expired (?). A couple of weeks ago, I tried to email 'sjjarvis@givealife.com.ph', 'sjjarvis@givealife.ph', 'melanie@givealife.ph'; 'philip-cruz@givealife.com.ph', 'phillip-cruz@givealife.ph', but I have not received any response at all. I don’t know what’s happening with the and 'Give A Life. Could you please possibly find out and post an unpdate on your website.
Thank you.

Thanks Vangiie, I also visited their site and it looks like their domain has expired. From what I know they may have forgotten to renew their subscription or something else went wrong. I will try my best to salvage an email I got from them and will inform you as soon as I found it.

I am Glory Anne, an autistic and third among four siblings. I have 2 brothers and one sister and turning 18 years old this April 8. Two months ago, on Jan. 29, 2011, my dad, Henry C. Tarongoy, was shot in Lanao del Norte, bore multiple gunshots from an unidentified gunman because of "mistaken identity". He was there because of the invitation of trusted friends to survey the mountains in that area. My dad is still battling in the ICU for almost two months now and the people who promised to shoulder the medical and hospital bills seemed to have an amnesia. My mom and my father's siblings are the one shouldering the expensive medicines to keep him alive. The hospital bills are not paid yet and my mom does not know where to get that money. She is lucky to have some friends who helped her but she told me she needs to have million of friends to have the money to pay the hospital bills. Well, I know the Almighty God is not sleeping, especially to me, being special. I believe thru this social networking site, I can meet a lot of people who can help us. Thanks in advance. I am uploading some pictures of my dad in the ICU for your reference.

Good day,
My name's Jocelyn Belano-Pasquin, San Juan City, Philippines 30 yr old.
I saw this site while searching for help, & decided to take a chance , go ahead and ask for help thru this. I recently gave birth, last sept 14, 2013. my baby is only 26 weeks..only 640 g.
She's now at the NICU and will stay there for about 8 to 10 weeks. We already gave down payments at the hospital, P65,000. but they constantly call us for additional because the bills are piling up. We do not know whom to turn to anymore. Baby's bill is already 257,000 as of today. We already asked help from PCSO, from our municipal office, and channel 7 Kapuso Foundation. No feedback yet. Please , we are begging you for help , if we cant give additional downpayments the hospital would stop allowing us to charge the medicines & equipments and will make us purchase the medicines of our baby cash instead which will make our situations impossible. So please...someone help us. our number is +639289992888/ +639197942372 e mail is : jocelbelano@yahoo.com

Baby Breanne Akeisha, barely 28 weeks when i was rushed to the nearest hospital July 9, 2016 due to Combulsion,Dehydration and Pre Eclampsia. My baby barely weighing 1.17kg was born July 9, 2016 at 11:49P.M.

Upon delivery, Baby Breanne was admitted to NICU and was placed inside the incubator. With the complications of premature baby, Baby Breanne is still admitted to the hospital up to this time. Our family is anxiously waiting for his desired weight gain to be achieved and have a good sign of feeding so we can bring her home.

We need huge sum of hospital bills to settle. As of this writing, baby DJ is now on his 14th days in the hospital. The hospital bill is now ranging close to Php 300,000.00 not to mention the borrowed money from supportive friends .

Baby Breanne is fighting for her life in the hospital since they were admitted with her mom. Baby Breanne deserves all the chance to survive. Let's extend our loving support to my baby as we go through the battles of financial turmoil.

The biggest thing you can give is a testimony that someone cares. Your kind financial assistance and unwavering support will give Baby Breanne a great hope. Let's all make a difference!

Any support is well appreciated. God Bless us all!

Have a blessed day Give a Life Foundation. I am Rosian Juarez, 35 years old and residing at Mamhut Norte, Balasan, Iloilo. A mother of 2 children, a boy aged 7 and a girl aged 3. I am a simple mom dreaming to live a simple and happy life that serves the Lord.Maybe life isn't that simple as I was dreaming. Just last year February 2015, I was diagnosed to have a Brain Aneurysm and doctors suggested me to undergo Conventional Angiography. The procedure costs more than half a million and because my family belongs to a low profile family, I just go home and try to find a way to save 600,000.00 without loosing hope that I can still survive. God's grace is more than enough to sustain me until this year. Maybe I need to go through all this difficulties to find my real purpose in life. My right eye now is partially blind and the doctor suggested to go the coiling procedure asap. I am now knocking at your heart's door if you can help me in my case. Give a life Foundation thank you for this opportunity because I believe God will use your organization to give life to me and others like me. You can contact me at 09488702475 and 09177295756. You can email me at aquarian288@yahoo.com. I am willing to submit any requirements to prove my status. I am still hopeful that I can survive. GOD BLESS..
